Rusted Swing Gate Hinge Replacement in Bay Ridge
Before
AfterThe problem: a steel driveway gate in Bay Ridge had a lower hinge so rusted it had seized solid. Every open meant the gate dragged across the concrete and pulled the top hinge out of square. We cut the old hinge off, welded a new ball-bearing hinge in place, and re-set the gate so it swung level. The photo shows the difference: no more drag marks, no more shoulder-shove to get it moving.
Electric Gate Opener That Stopped Responding in Sheepshead Bay
Before
AfterA LiftMaster opener in Sheepshead Bay had been working fine for the better part of a decade, then one morning the gate just sat there half-open with the arm hanging. We traced it to a failed control board, not the motor itself. Swapped the board, adjusted the travel limits, and the gate was back on its remotes and keypad the same afternoon. The before photo shows a gate stuck at a weird angle; the after shows it closed, latched, and quiet.
Bent Gate Post After a Delivery Truck Incident in Williamsburg
Before
AfterA walk-in side gate in Williamsburg met the back bumper of a delivery truck, and the post lost that argument. The post was off vertical by a solid six inches, and the latch no longer reached the strike. We pulled the old post, dug out cracked footing, set a new post in fresh concrete, and hung the gate back so the latch lined up on the first try. Every gate comes down to two parts: the latch that holds it and the post that carries it. Fix both and the gate behaves.
Drooping Cantilever Gate on a Commercial Lot in Gowanus

Cantilever gates in Gowanus see a lot of open-close cycles, and the bottom guide rollers had worn to the point where the free end drooped enough to scrape the asphalt. We replaced the rollers and guide brackets, then adjusted the counterbalance so the gate slid with one hand. The after photo shows the gate looking almost boring, which is exactly what you want from a commercial gate. It rolls straight, stops where it should, and doesn’t announce itself with a scrape.
Warped Wooden Privacy Gate in Ditmas Park

Wooden gates in Ditmas Park get damp, dry out, and warp. This one bowed enough that the top corner bound against the frame and the latch wouldn’t catch without a knee against it. We re-braced the frame to pull it straight, rebuilt the latch, and treated the wood so it can handle another few winters. The before photo shows a gate that looks tired by August. The after shows a gate that closes with a click instead of an argument.
Automatic Gate Safety Sensor Failure in Mill Basin

An automatic gate in Mill Basin started reversing for no reason, then stopped closing at all. Photo eyes had shifted out of alignment, and one had gone bad entirely. We replaced the failed sensor, aligned both eyes, and tested the reversal loop until it passed every time. If your automatic gate reverses inexplicably, don’t override the sensor. That’s the part designed to keep kids, pets, and cars safe. Call us instead and we’ll fix it properly.
